CLIMATE RESPONSIVE HOUSE, Bhusaval

Stack Effect

At Bhusaval, neat Hyderabad, the temperature in the peak summer generally rises to 43 degree celcius. In this scorching heat, it is difficult for any house to be comfortable without an AC which impacts the environment badly. This house is so designed as to enhance the Stack effect by letting the hot air rise and move out being directed by a sloe and escapes at the upper openings. The cooler air is refilled in the house as the release of the hot air creates a suction effect at the openings.

The client has been very happy and does not use AC here. This house has helped us realise the principles of passive cooling very well.
