Pachgani | 2017
Technique
CSEB Bricks
Site Area
8 acres
This Eco-village is designed for the students of residential schools in Panchgani, Maharashtra, providing them with a space for outdoor activities that foster a deeper connection to nature. The project is a CSR initiative by Chowgule Industries Pvt. Ltd. (Mumbai) and is based on a public-participatory model, involving the local villagers in the construction process. This Eco-village sits at the base of the tallest point in Panchgani - The Triveni Point (opposite Mapro Gardens, Panchgani)
The village houses are built using C.S.E.B. (Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks), a sustainable construction technique. This approach was chosen in direct response to the Forest Department’s regulation limiting the movement of heavy vehicles within the forest area to reduce pollution, ensuring the project aligns with environmental preservation efforts.
